What can you do with the trainer?

  • Trainer: type text and hear it as Morse code, with character speed, Farnsworth spacing, tone pitch and volume settings.
  • Translator: convert between text and Morse code.
  • Listening test: check how well you copy by ear.
  • Keying practice: send code yourself.
  • Code guide: letters, numbers, symbols, prosigns, Q codes and common abbreviations.

How does the microphone decoder work?

It listens to Morse sound from a radio speaker or another device through your phone or computer microphone, and shows dots, dashes and letters as it hears them. Pitch can be found automatically. The first few letters may be wrong while it matches the speed, and they correct themselves soon after.

Is your data stored?

No. Microphone audio is processed inside your browser and is not sent to or stored on the server. Settings and scores also stay in your browser.

What do K, TU and 73 mean?

CW operators use short abbreviations to keep a contact brief. The abbreviation table on the trainer explains calls such as CQ and DE, replies such as K and R, and greetings. Select an abbreviation to hear it at your current speed and pitch.
